Get to Know Us
Hi, I'm Abi, founder of The Modern Dog.
I've spent the past 10 years working with dogs, seven grooming, five running my own business, and three specialising in canine oral care.
When I first started offering teeth cleaning, I struggled to find reliable, practical guidance. The information out there just wasn’t as comprehensive as I had hoped, and I felt there was a huge gap in the market.
Much of what I know now comes from first hand experience, extensive research, and a keen interest in ongoing studies.
With this experience, I've designed a course that combines practical learning with evidence based knowledge:
'Beyond the Ultrasonic'.
I have a passion for continuing professional development (CPD) and I am always exploring topics like pet nutrition, behaviour, and oral health. This curiosity drives me to stay up to date with the latest techniques and ensures I can share the best guidance through my work and courses.
At The Modern Dog, our goal is to equip groomers, pet professionals, and dog owners with the knowledge and confidence to make a real difference in dogs' oral health.
When I'm not working on keeping all my clients’ smiles clean, you’ll find me exploring in our campervan with my two dogs, Louie the Border Collie and Ruby the Toy Poodle, my little inspirations!
